Unboxing, Assembly and Demo the American Lawn Mower Co. 14-inch Push Reel Lawn Mower

This is the American Lawn Mower Company 1204-14 14-inch 4-Blade push reel lawn mower that I recently bought on Amazon. This is the first time I’ve owned a push reel mower. I opted to purchase this mower due to its relatively low maintenance qualities and low impact on the environment. This mower cost $59 and did not include shipping since it was Prime eligible.

Every mower should come with the following pieces as part of the assembly:
1. Reel Mower Assembly
2. Upper Handlebars (x2)
3. Lower Handlebars (x2)
4. Handle Grips (x2)
5. 2 E-Rings
6. Handle Bolts (x3)
7. Washers (x3)
8. Wing Nuts (x3)

Here are a few tips to keep in mind when assembling this mower:
**The handlebar bolts have square shanks, so make sure everything lines up before attaching the wing nuts.
**I showed how to set up the handlebars prior to attaching to the mower. However, the handlebars should be attached to the slotted posts with the two E-rings on the mower assembly first. This will ease attaching the upper handlebars with wing nuts, for final construction.

For the demonstration, the grass was a little on the high side, based on recommendations. The grass was about 6-7 inches long. The grass wasn’t too dense in the lawn, so cutting was smooth with little hesitation from the spinning blades. Some of the denser spots of grass needed more momentum to get the blades through. Lastly, the cut grass was a bit long, so a quick double cut in the trouble spots took care of the clumps and uncut strands of grass.
