The return journey began the next morning. We followed roughly the same route back. What made the return memorable was how light our steps felt. It felt as if we were flying downhill.
One thing that also brought peace of mind was knowing that our bodies no longer had to endure the stress of adjusting to new altitudes. Everyone was in good spirits, and our pace reflected that. On the first day, we descended over 1,000 meters all the way to Tengboche.
