Vegan Tofu Butter Masala Ingredients:
Tofu Marination:
500 Grams Tofu
½ Cup soy Yoghurt
Pinch of Salt
1 Tablespoon Tandoori Tikka Masala
2 Tablespoons Ginger Garlic Paste
Gravy/Curry:
500 Grams Tofu Pieces
250 Grams Vegan Butter
12- 15 Cashews – Cashew Powder
3 Tablespoons Ketchup
2 Tablespoons Hot Sauce
5 Medium Tomato Paste
½ Cup Cooking Cream
½ Teaspoon Garam Masala
A Pinch of Red and Orange Colour Each (Optional)
1 Teaspoon Fenugreek Leaves Powder (Kasturi Methi)
2 Tablespoons Tomato Paste
Salt to Taste
Coal and Oil to give Smoky Flavour to the Gravy/Curry
Cut the tofu into small pieces and marinate it with soy yoghurt, salt, tandoori tikka masala and ginger garlic paste for at least 30 minutes.
In a pan, heat vegan butter and add cashew powder, saute for 2-3 minutes then add ketchup, hot sauce, tomato paste, cooking cream, garam masala, red and orange colour (optional), fenugreek leaves powder, tomato paste and salt to taste. Cook the mixture for 10-15 minutes on medium heat.
Add the marinated tofu pieces to the gravy and mix well. Cook the tofu in the gravy for 10-15 minutes on low heat.
To give smoky flavor to the gravy/curry, heat a small piece of coal on direct flame until red hot. - -- Keep it in a small metal bowl, pour a few drops of oil on it and place it in the center of the gravy. --- Cover the pan with a lid and let it smoke for 2-3 minutes.
Serve the Vegan Tofu Butter Masala with Indian breads or rice. Enjoy!
