A lazy portfolio is just a way to describe a passive investing portfolio. Over the long term, passive investing strategies beat active investing nearly every time. In this video I'll show you examples of several lazy portfolios, including: the three fund portfolio, the core 4 portfolio, ray dalio's all weather portfolio, the coffeehouse portfolio and the coward portfolio. I'll show you how to create these investing strategies using vanguard etfs.

By creating a lazy portfolio such as the 3 fund portfolio or the core four portfolio, you diversify your investments in the stock market and protect yourself from a stock market crash or a coming recession. Lazy portfolios are also a great way to start investing for beginners due to their simplicity. It's minimalist investing. you can invest 100 dollars, invest 500 dollars, invest 1000 dollars or any other amount into just the three fund portfolio or core 4 portfolio and have a completely diversified investment mix. So the lazy portfolio is also a great option to invest with little money or if you want a minimalist investing approach.

I use vanguard etfs and vanguard index funds to invest in the 3 fund portfolio and core four portfolio due to their low fees. Investing fees lower your ROI and vanguard minimizes this investing risk. The vanguard etfs you'll see most often in these lazy portfolios are the vanguard total stock market index etf (ticker symbol VTI), the vanguard total world stock market index etf (ticker symbol VXUS) the vanguard real estate investment trust REIT index fund (ticker symbol VNQ) and the vanguard total bond market index fund (ticker symbol BND).

When comparing the returns of passive investing vs active investing it's clear that passive investing wins. So rather than debate passive vs active investing, just stick to a lazy portfolio and simplify your investing.
