Bucovina Golden Eagles ~ Mom Brings A Branch! Intruder Sub Adult Lands On Mom! Comes To Nest 2.23.22

Описание: Mom Bucovina arrives with a nice pine branch and places it on the nest. Lots of vocals as there is an intruder in the tree. A female golden eaglet sub adult drops down to try and land on the nest and instead lands on Mom! The SA flies off and Mom regains her balance. She keeps a watchful eye out and vocalizes as the SA is in the tree. The SA vocals are heard and it lands on the nest and then heads to the left branch.

Mom is alert and curious and does some beaking to the visitor when it comes closer to her. It is interesting how calm they are with one another. The SA stays about 8 minutes before departing to the right. Mom will leave afterwards as well. It is not uncommon for eagles to be passing through the area before the breeding season begins. Dad is still afraid of the camera - I hope that he will be able to do nestorations this season! Thank you for watching!

This nest is located in a remote area of Bucovina Romania where a pair of Golden Eagles have been nesting and raising their young. The Wild Bucovina Association is a non government and non profit organization that has set up a new webcam recently to observe a rare pair of golden eagles raise their chick. In 2021, the GE pair raised a chick named Zenit who fledged successfully on July 26th 2021.
