If you're learning the handstand for calisthenics, you may have seen a lot of people doing the handstand with an arched back. I used to arch all the time, too. If the arching is not intentional, it can put strain on your lower back and make balance more difficult.
The problem all comes down to two things: lack of shoulder flexibility and a failure to do posterior pelvic tilt (PPT) while you're inverted.
In this video, I show the difference I've seen myself from doing daily stretches and one exercise to straighten the handstand. The stretches are designed to improve shoulder flexibility while strengthening your abs and teaching proper pelvic positioning for a straighter handstand.
