Here some history..
History of Vietnam's Nationalism
As a result of social, political and socioeconomic changes after the arrival of France, especially after 1918.

Development of Nationalism
1. The nationalism movement was pioneered by the noble class and officials from the Mandarin class, that is the class that received Confucian education.
2. This group fights for the restoration of the monarchy system.
3. The emergence of intellectuals further increased political and anti-France awareness.
4. Newspapers such as Tribune Indige and Cloche Felee criticized France oppression and demanded the rights of Vietnamese people.

Nationalism after the First World War
1. Patterned revolution supported by nationalism and communism.
2. Nationalist party is Viet Nam Quoc Dan Dang (VNQDD) or Vietnamese Nationalist Party led by Nguyen Thai Hoc.
3. The communist party is the Communist Party of Vietnam led by Ho Chi Minh.
4. VNQDD is based on the system of democracy, nationalism and socialism.
5. The party launched a rebellion in 1930 to expel the French and establish the government of the Republic of Vietnam.
6. The France captured the leader of the VNQDD and executed Nguyen Thai Hoc (Leader of VNQDD).
7. The Communist Party of Vietnam under Ho Chi Min continued the revolutionary movement against France. ( Which is really cool. )
8. Ho Chi Minh succeeded in declaring the independence of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam in Hanoi, North Vietnam.
9. Ho Chi Min was appointed as the first president.
10. In South Vietnam Saigon was under the influence of France and the United States.
11. In 1975, the Republic of Vietnam collapsed.
12. Socialist Republic of Vietnam (current Vietnam) is form in 1976.
