President Salva Kiir Mayardit has issued a sweeping presidential decree suspending the National Security Adviser, Mr. Tut Gatluak Kew, and placing him under house arrest amid rising security concerns.
In the same early-morning changes, the President dismissed the Governor of Unity State and appointed Dr. Joseph Nguen Monyuil as Acting Governor. Several senior government officials, ministers, governors, and security chiefs have also been relieved of their duties and replaced with new appointees.
These decisions, announced between 5:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. local time, mark one of the most significant government reshuffles in recent months.
