The arrests of 8 co-perpetrators in the Duterte drug war will be done separately and is not expected to affect the International Criminal Court trial of ex-president Rodrigo Duterte when it starts, a lawyer said Sunday.

The eight co-perpetrators named by the ICC prosecutor are:

Senator Ronald “Bato” dela Rosa
Senator Bong Go
Former police chief Vicente Danao
Former police chief Oscar Albayalde
Former justice secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II
Former National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) chief Dante Gierran
Former Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency chief Isidro Lapeña
The late former police chief Camilo Cascolan

Atty. Maria Kristina Conti said some victims in the Duterte drug war have refused to come out and testify for fear of retaliation by Duterte’s family and their allies.

“Bengatibo ang pamilya Duterte,” she said.
