Air defense systems activated over Tehran as Israel threatens more attacks

STORYLINE:
Tehran's air defense was activated early Sunday as Israel continued hitting targets near the Iranian capital.

Israel's military said it was currently striking “military targets” where Iranian state television said explosions were heard in the city’s east and west.

An oil a refinery and an oil storage were reported to be ablaze.

Meanwhile Iran launched a second night of missile attacks against Israel on Saturday.

Israel warned of more attacks after Tehran fired waves of missiles and drones that killed three people and wounded dozens in Israel.

Israel’s ongoing “widespread strikes” across Iran have left the country’s surviving leadership with the difficult decision of whether to plunge deeper into conflict with Israel’s more powerful forces or seek a diplomatic route.
