Here's a video of a water sculpture I built together with my InteraXon (makers of Muse and Muse S) co-founder in order give water a voice. "Hydraulophone" is a word I made up that means "The voice of (pressurized, i.e. hydraulic) water". Toronto is the biggest city on the Great Lakes which hold more than 1/5th the world's freshwater and more than 84% of North America's freshwater. Toronto is also the capital of Ontario which is home of the world's largest freshwater lake = Lake Superior. Therefore Toronto is the world's freshwater capital but we don't respect our waterfront. Water needs to have a voice, and my hope is that the hydraulophone will give water a voice and help prioritize public access to water with safe accessible water for all!
Hydraulophones are highly expressive musical instruments. You play by blocking the water jets in various ways, which forces the hydraulic fluid (water) into the sound-producing mechanism in various ways. It works a lot like a pipe organ, except that it uses water instead of air. For pictures, see http://wearcam.org/osc/
