How Much Did The Surrey House Raise for Prostate Cancer UK?

Описание: Watch the moving moment when we reveal to Prostate Cancer UK Ambassador, Danny Burkey, who lives with an incurable prostate cancer diagnosis, and Head of Research, Matthew Hobbs, that the Surrey House Draw raised a staggering £3,450,000 to help save the lives of more men.

A team of others affected by prostate cancer took it in turns to reveal a number each and show Danny, Matthew, and all those back at Prostate Cancer UK HQ, the incredible sum raised by the Omaze Community to support the charity’s life-saving screening programme research.

Danny said: “My hope was ‘we can get rid of this’, and at every turn I got the worst possible news, ‘til after the bone scan the news was, ‘well, it's incurable’. When you get to the final stage of ‘this is incurable’ it's just a black hole, it’s not describable. I wish I could stop another man from being in that position. I can’t—but Prostate Cancer UK can.”

The money raised from the partnership with Omaze will help to fund a major, world-leading research programme that will test new ways of diagnosing prostate cancer and lead to the first ever UK wide prostate cancer screening programme for men.
