"Goyo is a bit lazy for a blue dragon. He burrows down in the sand waiting to surprise tasty prey, but often falls asleep in it's warmth. Even when prey wanders by, if he’s eaten recently, he often lets them pass rather than have to move if he is too comfortable. Lying about gives him plenty of time to practice his arts on unsuspecting passersby. There is no young dragon more adept at creating hallucinations in the minds of unlucky adventurers than Goyo. In fact, he is better at it than some adults which boosts an already large ego. His flight is graceful, his lightning fierce, but he does not crave the opportunity to prove himself in battle as some do. He prefers the more subtle arts of stealth and deception. "

Went with a pretty traditional blue dragon colour combo similar to the original box art, with the bulk of the dragon blue and off-white wing membranes and underbelly. Brought in some additional colouring to help make it pop. The lightning on the box art was purple but I decided to go with a blast of yellow instead. To help the blue dragon pop off the base I used colour tones in the basing materials that were mainly neutral but with the addition of reds and oranges as a contrast to the blue of the dragon.

This was the first time I'd used the Folkart Dragonfly shimmer glaze, which is essentially a craft glaze with fine glitter in it that dries clear leaving the glitter shimmering. I thought it might give the dragon sort of a dragonfly effect especially in the armoured areas. It ends up just looking shiny on camera, but in person it does shimmer.

I ramped the speed up to 250% for the video and cut a significant amount of footage which allowed me to take hours of video and cut it back to under 25 minutes for your enjoyment.
