Bob Babbitt is one of the best bassists! I’ve also covered I got a name from Jim Croce and Every kinda people from Robert Palmer with Bob on bass, and I think that Signed, Sealed, Delivered is a typical Babbitt bassline. It’s got taste; it got melody; it got rhythm and it fits the song as it should!

I love his passing notes as in bar 2 (chord tones from the F chord (F-C-Eb-F); in bar 3 (chromatic from F to D). And I also love his rhythmic variations as in bars 17-18 and bars 45-46.

But most of all I like the way he approaches the groove and feel of the song; this proves his craftmanship!
