I think there's a misunderstanding (I blame Project Runway) that fashion designers simply get a twinkle in their eye, sketch up a design out of thin air, and make the thing. In reality there is a LOT more that goes into collection development.
This is really just the beginning of my design process, but it was a lot of fun to get started!
