Join me in Buxton, North Carolina, at the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse — the tallest brick lighthouse in North America. I visited in 2025 during its restoration, when scaffolding surrounded this Outer Banks icon.
Even though the tower was closed for climbing, there was still plenty to explore — from the Museum of the Sea and even the trail to the lighthouse’s original location before its famous move inland.
