Bio-signals – electromyography, motion capture, ultrasound, magnetic tracking, inertial measurement, and so on – are key to provide optimal control of assistive devices by patients. But these signals are usually unstable, badly conditioned, unreliable, variable in time. How do we tackle these issues for the known kinds of signals, and what novel kinds of sensors are we exploring? We will be talking about this issue with three experts: Dr. Marta Gherardini, Dr. Marta Gandolla and Dr. Erik Scheme (joint work with Mr. Ethan Eddy).
