UPDATED Top 10 Best CS:GO Players of all time

Описание: An updated version of the history of the Top 10 CS:GO players animated over time from the first LAN tournaments in 2012 to February 2019. In this version the dates are fixed, Meaning that it now has the right amount of days every month and the days at the left side of the screen are now accurate, the teams have been fixed, meaning that it now accurately shows the team the player is currently playing for and it now shows the major winners and MVP’s of all of the CS:GO majors during the video so that it’s easier to keep track of where you are at the moment.

To the right the top 10 players are shown based on their HLTV LAN rating over the past 3 months. The automatic Map filter on HLTV is also being used. This means that players who have played significantly less maps than others won’t show up in the top 10. This is to prevent players who only play a few maps with a high rating, overtaking the consistent top players. To prevent lower tier players overtaking the top 10 spots over players in top teams, the top 20 filter is used, meaning that only matches between teams in the top 20 are counted. This filter is turned on from the end of 2015 when the HLTV team rankings were officially introduced. Of course, the LAN filter is also turned on.

The top 10 is then taken every single day from the beginning of CS:GO to now and plotted over a moving line graph. The line graph isn’t very helpful since it all moves in large steps, but I think it still adds something visual. The info on the right shows the player’s nickname, their photo, current team, HLTV rating and maps played in the last 3 months.

To the left a ranking is shown of the players that are longest on the number one spot and longest in the top 10. Above that the date is also shown to keep track.

I use Python to import all the data from HLTV and Liquipedia and use Unity to animate this graph. I hope it is enjoyable and interesting for you all to watch. I spent quite some time on this. The top 10 changes quite fast now and then so you might need to pause is at some points if you want to read specific information. I’m interested to know what you guys can take from this information.
