About BAPTC & the region:
The BAPTC (Benguet Agri-Pinoy Trading Center) was built to replace the older, congested vegetable trading post in La Trinidad, positioning itself right beside the BSU Strawberry Fields on Strawberry Farm Road. It’s here that farmers from across the Cordillera bring their harvests to consolidate, grade, and ship out.

La Trinidad is known nationwide as the “Strawberry Capital” of the Philippines. The strawberry farms at KM6, Strawberry Farm Road are a popular tourist stop where visitors pick strawberries and enjoy panoramic views. Many of the vegetables you saw in the market came from those same highland farms and neighbouring areas.

Fun fact / cultural note:
Many locals call the wholesale side of markets “bagsakan” or “hangar market” — that is, the place where produce is unloaded and redistributed. In Baguio days past, much of this trade happened in congested downtown markets. BAPTC was designed to streamline that trade and ease traffic.
