Nigeria’s Labour Party has taken steps to resolve its internal divisions as the Nenadi Usman-led caretaker committee extended an olive branch to the Abure faction, calling for reconciliation and unity ahead of the 2027 general elections. The appeal was made during a stakeholders’ summit held at the party’s national headquarters in Abuja, where leaders emphasised the need to consolidate gains and strengthen party cohesion.
The summit was attended by the Presidents of the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, signalling organised labour’s interest in stabilising the party structure as preparations intensify for the next electoral cycle.
