What is ethical wildcrafting?

As herbalism is becoming more popular so is wildcrafting. Everyone is producing products now with minimal knowledge of the plants much less ecosystems and their impact. Folks gathering plants and misidentifying the flora is common and these folks are the ones making herbal products, regurgitating and re-wording medicinal uses.
These folks who claim to be ethical are making plant based products with plants like White Sage which is impacted not only by commerce and greedy PLANT LUSTING folks like Juniper Ridge who are grossly wildcrafting large amounts of a plant that is impacted by environmental factors in addition to wildcrafting. When I see wildcrafted White Sage bundles or plant based products, I see that the person behind the product is not aware or just doesn’t care about the status of the plant. White Sage is on the “to watch” list under the United Plant Savers site. We need to speak for the plants because they can’t defend themselves. So rise up and let our voices and actions help the land, flora and fauna.
