Ancient civilizations believed that numbers reflected the structure of the world.
The number 13 matched the number of lunar cycles in a year
and was seen as the number of a complete celestial cycle.
28 was considered a universal rhythm —
the length of a lunar month,
divided into four phases of seven days each.
When 13 is multiplied by 28, the result is 364,
a complete model of time:
thirteen cycles,
each made up of four phases,
all held together by the rhythm of the number seven.
This kind of calendar wasn’t seen as a matter of convenience.
It was understood as a harmonious cosmic system,
synchronized with natural and biological cycles
of all living beings on Earth.
That’s why a calendar of 13 months with 28 days each
was considered more “true”
than the uneven solar calendar we use today.
