This is one of the most stressful rescues we've ever filmed. A huge white-tailed buck was trapped, not just in the water, but swimming deep beneath a frozen lake. With a thick layer of ice blocking its way to air, the buck was facing immediate suffocation and hypothermia. Every second counted.

The team rushes onto the thick ice, knowing they have minutes to cut a hole. But when the saw starts, the terrified deer makes a desperate move—it swims away from the noise, disappearing deeper under the ice! This unexpected move forces a brutal change of plans.

Then, things get worse: the gear needed for our diver to go into the zero-degree water freezes solid. Facing a catastrophic equipment failure, our lead rescuer has to choose between waiting for a fix (risking the deer's life) or diving in unprotected (risking his own).

Watch the incredible effort as the team works two separate holes, racing to guide the exhausted buck out from under the ice. The video captures the raw struggle to pull the massive animal from the water, the emergency oxygen treatment on the ice, and the long, satisfying journey to recovery.
