Everyone knows Mozart's Concerto #23 in A minor. Wonderful recordings of it made over the years by great musicians are too many to even start. Yet, this is probably the best recording of Mozart's 23rd that I've ever heard.
The tone, the lightness and caress that comes from under the fingers of the soloist are captivating. Yet the absolute simplicity of his performance seems unparalleled! Radu Lupu is truly one of the most interesting musicians of our time. it is such a loss that he left this world so early! Sándor Végh and Wienner Philharmoniker add to the spell.
I found this recording on the "Sonorum Concentus" channel here: • Mozart Piano Concerto No 23 A major K 488 ... . However, the video and audio are out of sync in it, and this desynchronization changes from movement to movement. There are other recordings of this concerto on the net, but there as well audio and video are out of sync a bit, although in a different way.
I synchronized the video to audio, removed a few foreign artefacts and added caption. Re-posting in order to more people enjoy this unique recording. Thank you, Sonorum Concentus for posting this jewel!
