The Athangudi Palace /Periya Veedu / Lakshmi house was built on 1908. It displays the best of the typical feature of a Chettiar House such as Open Courtyard, Big Verandhah (Thinnai) and amalgamation of Indian and European Architecture. This gorgeous home has been a location for many Indian films.
The Athangudi Palace is situated in a small village namely Athangudi which is about 12 kilometers away from Karaikudi.
Entry Fee is Rs. 50/head.
Timings: Open on all days between 9 AM and 6 PM
NB: You may not allow to visit the palace if there is a shoot is going on at the palace premises.
