With water levels at Lake Powell sitting at 27% and record low snowpack in Utah, residents and boaters are concerned about potential implications for the lake.
Lake Powell sits between Utah and Arizona, and a major source of water for the lake comes from Utah’s snowpack.
According to the Colorado River Interactive Dashboard from the Arizona Department of Water Resources, Lake Powell is currently only 27% full. Based on projections, the water level is likely to continue decreasing until April, when it will receive a boost, then decline again for the rest of the year.
