The dead camel thorn trees at the white clay pan Deadvlei surrounded by high sand dunes is one of the greatest sights in Namibia. Deadvlei, and the nearby salt pan Sossusvlei, are located in the Namib-Naukluft Park, Namibia.

To reach Deadvlei, you drive a 60km sealed road from Sesriem until you reach a car park. That's as far you can get with a 4x2 car, but to continue further on to the Deadvlei parking, you need a 4x4 vehicle. The tar road ends at the 4x2 parking and from there you will have to drive 4km on a sand road.

This video captures the entire 4km sand road between the two car parks – out and back. It’s our first time driving on sand, it’s amazing and Namibia is beautiful.
