Replacing an alternator for a 2001 Cadillac Deville out the top of the engine bay. This way will prevent you from losing any fluids at all, no radiator or AC coolant will be lost.
Remember to let the vehicle sit overnight, or in a garage or in the shade for a day so the engine cools down as you will be working directly against it.
