Family Simm - Saint-Prex to Echichens

Описание: We found this walk in a great book we bought called "Wine Hiking Switzerland: Explore the Landscape of Swiss Wines Paperback". All the walks in the book provide walks and hikes in and around the lush and beautiful Swiss wine making areas and involve either stop off at restaurants or bars that sell the local wine or visits to the actual wine producers themselves. There is also a book for Beer Walks which we have had for a while so when this one came out it was a no brain-er to buy.

The walk itself starts on the lake shore at Saint-Prex near Morges and takes you through the village, out into the country through woodland towards Morges itself. We picked this walk as it was actually the Morges Tulip festival which we visited last year. This is help in a small park on the outskirts of Morges for about 6 weeks during April and May. The good thing is that the bulbs are planted at intervals so you should get some lovely displays no matter when you go.

We took a detour to walk through the town centre before heading through the vin yards towards Echichens itself. Echichens is a small village with a cafe and hotel but the end goal was a trip to Domaine Henri Cruchon. This winery has a really wide selection of wines so we had to pick up a bottle or two.

The walk was a nice mix of country trails, coastal path and hard surface. Not really suitable for strollers as there are some narrow paths through tunnels as you will see in the video.
