Tirur: A new team instituted by the Thrissur IG has begun probe into the Mankada rape case, in which two minor girls, aged seven and eleven, were raped by persons including her step father. The new special team would also look into the lapses made by the earlier team. The SIT recorded the statements of the victims and the workers of Childline. It was earlier alleged that the police tried to save the accused in the case.
