Megan Specter sat down with Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos to learn more about the ongoing efforts to find missing Guthrie.

Sheriff Chris Nanos continues to defend his team's work, telling reporters that investigators are still following active leads. Every day, investigators are working to track down ransom notes while crime labs across the country analyze DNA evidence. Despite growing questions about how the case has been handled since day one, Nanos maintains that his department gets closer every day to finding Guthrie.

The focus of the investigation has shifted toward public criticism from FBI Director Kash Patel, who accused local law enforcement of shutting federal investigators out during the initial phases. Nanos denied the allegations, stating that federal agents worked collaboratively on the task force alongside local detectives from day one. A $1 million reward offered by the family remains active for information leading to the recovery of Nancy Guthrie.
