Curvature means the measure of bending of a curve at a point. It shows how sharply a curve turns. The smaller the radius of curvature, the greater is the curvature. If is a point on the curve, and , are two nearby points, then the circle passing through and is called the circle of curvature. Its centre is called the centre of curvature, and its radius is called the radius of curvature. Curvature is defined as the reciprocal of the radius of curvature.
