Pleurisy in cattle is an inflammatory condition of the pleura, commonly associated with severe respiratory infections. It often occurs as a complication of bacterial pneumonia, traumatic reticuloperitonitis, or thoracic infections.
Clinically, affected cattle show fever, shallow and painful breathing, reduced lung sounds, and reluctance to move due to chest pain. Early diagnosis using clinical examination, auscultation, and ultrasonography is essential for effective management and improving prognosis.
