Lionel NYC Mohawk and K-Line Super Hudson Freight HD

The New York Central railroad put its steam engines to good use when moving of freight along its 'water level route'. The most iconic locomotive of the time was the Hudson, which utilized a 4-6-4-wheel arrangement, and was well suited for both freight and passenger service. When real muscle was needed however, the NYC employed the use of a larger, more powerful 4-8-2 Mohawk type locomotive. In this video, you'll get to see both in operation in great looking 1/48 O-scale. K-Line's beautifully detailed Hudson pulls off with a heavy freight at (2:25). The train passes through the town crossing (3:05), over the trestle (3:25) then continues on its way around industrial areas (3:45), past the switch tower at (4:20), and past the donut shop (4:40), before pulling up at the station (5:30). It stops there briefly to let a locomotive cross the tracks further up the line. In the distance, the unmistakable sound of NYC's L-3A Mohawk whistle can be heard (5:40), as it crosses over the tracks and switches onto the main line. It pulls up to confirm its track orders (6:00), then reverses, and backs down the line to couple to a consist of milk and dairy cars (6:35). A fast moving Express 'Milk train' was a common sight along the 'water-level route'. The detailed set of steam era cars made by Atlas, Lionel, MTH, and Weaver, recreates the look perfectly, and Lionel's scale-sized engine captures all the important details, and sounds terrific! As it pulls off (7:20), it passes the station as the freight is given its clearance to 'pull out' (7:55). The two can be seen passing each other several times around sweeping curves (8:25), (8:50), panned as they cross over the waterways (9:10), and hi-ball down the hi-rail at speed (9:45). At the end of its run, the Hudson pulls into the station first at (11:45). Only a few moments later, the express Milk and Dairy train pulls in as well (12:30), and readies to be unloaded. You can take time to take in the details of both models as they sit at the station at (6:15) and (12:35). In this video, I've done my very best to capture all the details of actual trains in operation in a most realistic way.
