The Ring movies focus on a haunted video tape that kills you 7 days after watching it. All of the main characters have watched the tape and try to not be killed by the girl that can crawl through a TV screen. In "The Ring" Rachel, a single mother, investigates the death of a relative and discovers that she (and a few other teens who have died recently) watched a "cursed" VCR tape. Rachel then desperately tries uncovering the origin of the tape in order to stop the curse. In "Rings" Julia notices that her boyfriend suddenly starts acting very differently. Eventually finds out that she has watched the tape as part of weird experiment lead by one of the professors (who has also seen it). In order to save those who have watched the tape she tries finding out everything she can about the strange video.
