IDWSDS 2025 - S302: Women in Data Science Driving Industries in the African Context

Описание: African women in data science are transforming industries, agriculture and reshaping the future of innovation in various businesses. This session focuses on how African women plays a pivotal in the use and application of Statistics and data science to solve real-world challenges in agriculture, healthcare, finance, education, and governance within an African Context. Although African women in data science make up less than 20% of data science professionals as of 2025, women are leading groundbreaking initiatives that are both locally relevant and globally significant. Participants will explore inspiring case studies, learn from leading female data scientists, and engage in dialogue on how to overcome systemic barriers to inclusion. The session will also spotlight programs and partnerships that are equipping women with the skills and leadership tools needed to thrive in this dynamic field.
