Dhaka Police Say Inqilab Mancha Spokesperson Sharif Osman Hadi Killed On Political Orders

Описание: The Detective Branch of Dhaka Metropolitan Police has revealed that Inqilab Mancha spokesperson Sharif Osman bin Hadi was shot dead on the orders of Awami League-backed Mirpur ward councillor Tajul Islam Bappi. Investigators identified Tajul Islam Chowdhury Bappi, former president of Pallabi Thana Jubo League, as the person who planned and executed the killing. Police confirmed that a chargesheet has been filed against 17 accused in connection with the case. DB Chief and Additional Commissioner Md Shafiqul Islam stated during a media briefing that the murder was politically motivated. Sharif Osman Hadi was shot in the head while campaigning in Dhaka on December 12, 2025, and succumbed to his injuries on December 18 at a hospital in Singapore. Authorities continue to investigate the case, highlighting rising concerns over political violence in Bangladesh.
