Rep. Bishop testifies before the U.S. House Natural Resources Committee re: Ocmulgee Mounds bill

Bishop, Jr., (GA-02) along with Congressman Austin Scott (GA-08) testified before the U.S. House Natural Resource Subcommittee on Federal Lands regarding the bipartisan bill they introduced to upgrade the name and continue the expansion and preservation effort of Ocmulgee Mounds in Middle Georgia.

Bishop and Scott along with Georgia's U.S. Senators, for more than a decade, have worked to have Ocmulgee Mounds designated as Georgia's first National Park and expand the grounds to its originally intended scope. They have highlighted the historic and cultural significance of this effort, the local community support, and the economic boost it will have for Middle Georgia and the state at large.
