Splinting is an important component of stabilizing a patient. Proper splinting can minimize pain and bleeding and allows the best chance at a quicker recovery for the patient.
In this video we discuss basic anatomy and also how to treat different types of fractures. We take a look at basic bone anatomy, SAM splints, vacuum splints, traction splints, improvised splinting and we even cover basic treatments for other fractures such as clavicle, shoulder, ribs and pelvis.
Know how to use the specific splints you have available and be able to improvise when you have limited resources.
