Join us for one of the wildest ice fishing trips yet! We traveled to a frozen alpine lake in search of beautiful brook trout and feisty Westslope cutthroat. We managed to land both in stunning alpine scenery. But just when we thought the day couldn’t get any stranger, I caught my first-ever northern pike minnow! Definitely the surprise catch of the trip!
Our adventure took an unexpected turn, nearly off a snowy cliff! We totally got stuck in the snow with tires just about hanging off the edge and no real way out. Thankfully, Dave, Kaitlyn’s dad, came in with a mini excavator and saved the day. There’s nothing like digging yourself out of a snow trap with a machine half your size to make the fish stories even better!
