This was a one hour writing exercise.
Genre was Romance with a sub-genre of Horror.
15 words...
Gravity, Embarrassed, Box, Hotel, Toes, Gay, Treacherous , Irish, Irrefutable , Bed, Proceed, Fairytale, Putty, Extravagant and Blister.
I think Cierra did a really good job with this. (I wouldn't have thought of it. :) )
Hey William,
You don’t know me,
But you will.
I’m just not courageous enough to speak to you yet.
Is that okay, William?
Will these letters suffice?
I hope they will,
Because you’re the one.
I know you are.
Fate brought us together.
I can see it now.
Our love will be irrefutable,
Gravity won’t even tear us apart.
Our love will be a Fairytale.
Death do us part,
Love, Anabelle
Hey William,
I often lie in bed at night thinking about the day we met.
Stepmother sent me on errands around town that day.
I have no car,
So I walked.
My feet were blistered, and my skin was scolding from the heat.
I was tired and hungry,
But chores had to be finished before I could eat.
The smell hit me hard though.
It was the most extravagant scent.
I knew I shouldn’t, but the aroma called to me.
It lured me with its tasty song.
I don’t regret forgetting to pick up Stepmother’s dry cleaning that day.
She gave me ten lashes and locked me in the damp basement that night.
But it was worth it.
Because I got to meet you.
The scent came from your bakery.
I only stepped through the door.
You were standing there,
Baking pies, and kneading dough.
And as destiny prevailed,
We locked eyes at the same time.
You gave me the most stunning smile.
You stole the air from my lungs.
You stole my heart right then and there.
I know this is a little too soon,
But I want you to know, William,
I love you!
Anabelle
Hey William,
The first time I heard your Irish accent,
I melted.
My cheeks pinkened with an embarrassed blush
And my toes curled with anticipation.
All you said was, “Hello, Can I help you?”
Just a few words to turn my existence to putty.
I ran away,
But in my defense,
You scare me.
Love is scary!
However, one day soon I’ll speak back.
I promise!
Love, Anabelle
Hey William,
I finally talked.
Wasn’t it wonderful.
I said, “Hello William.”
You were a little stunned that I knew your name.
But that’s okay.
I know everything about you, William.
A princess needs to know her prince.
I then proceeded to ask if you’d teach me how to bake.
You said yes of course.
There really wasn’t another answer.
How can you deny your fated love?
Thank you, William,
For being so kind to me.
Love, Anabelle
Hey William,
You’ve been acting weird.
Your smiles have slowly disappeared.
I can tell you’re anxious when I’m around.
A little frightened when I’m in town.
I think I know what it is.
You’re scared to let fate take course.
But that’s okay.
I’ll be the brave one this time.
I plan on kissing you at the ball.
Don’t worry, I won’t wear these ragged clothes.
I sewed a dress.
Just for you.
Your favorite color,
It’s blue!
A stroke of midnight will seal our love
For all time,
Love, Anabelle
Hey William,
Tonight’s the ball.
I sent you an apple pie
That I made myself,
Thanks to you,
With a letter
Detailing where to pick me up.
But William you never showed.
So I walked to your house.
I saw you there with a friend.
You were smiling and happy,
It made my heart pound.
I hope you won’t be mad,
But when you and your friend started walking down the street.
I followed quietly behind.
You two went to a very naughty place.
A hotel.
Where you shared a room, a bed with your friend.
William, this isn’t how my fairytale will end!
Love Anabelle
Hey William,
There was a time when our love was irrefutable.
Gravity couldn’t rip us apart.
But fairytales are just that…Fairytales.
Now I see that a happily-ever-after comes at a cost.
But I thank you, William.
You have shown me what love was like.
The good, the bad, the pretty, and the ugly.
As I lie here next to you in this cold box in the ground.
As my breathing slowly withers away, like yours did when I slipped you a piece of pie,
I can still here you utter those three treacherous words,
“I am gay.”
No, William, you’re not.
You’re not gay.
You’re mine!
For as long as time.
Love, Anabelle
