Here is a real time video which compares the Homemade Hand Engraving machine with the Super EZ graver. The material that is being cut is 304 stainless steel. Its a long video even after I've chopped some of it out. There is a short section where the sound is really terrible but it does improve a bit after that. The cutters have 98 degree and 120 degree angles and are Klot carbide. I was disappointed in the performance as the tips were continually breaking. This is the first time I've used carbide and also the first time I've cut stainless steel.
I hooked up one of the M-Audio pedals to the Homemade hand engraver so that it functions in a similar way to the Super EZ graver. The Homemade hand engraving machine provides more raw power but I couldn't make use of any more power as the tips were breaking on the lower power! Although the 2 systems are quite different the end results are very similar. I will keep the Homemade Hand engraving machine hooked up as I enjoyed using it today.
