Haoqi Wang began playing the violin when he was 5 years old and quickly developed an appreciation for its sound and performance. He currently performs with the University High School Symphony Orchestra and has been selected for the Irvine Unified School District Honor Orchestra multiple times. In addition, he has been recognized state-wide through his selection for the California All State Music Ensembles, as well as regionally through his selection for the Southern California All Southern Honor Ensembles. These experiences have deepened his musical growth and inspired continued dedication to both solo and ensemble performance. Outside of music, Haoqi is involved in baseball, and enjoys cubing in his free time.
Shibo (Tiger) Zhu is a current sophomore at Orange County School of the Arts, in Santa Ana, California. A passionate violist at school and violinist outside of school, Tiger has participated in many orchestras, such as the Orange County Youth Symphony/String Ensemble, Pacific Symphony Santiago Strings, All-Southern Orchestra, and the PVRS Orchestra. He also loves experimenting with playing different styles of music, such as cultural music as part of the Lantern Festival Orchestra, and pop music through being part of Montage! at OCSA, groups of celebrated performance ambassadors which combine the talent of singers, dancers and instrumentalists together. Trying to improve as a better soloist as well, Tiger placed silver in the Global Young Musicians Competition and 4th in the IAPMT’s Grand Autumn Competition. In his spare time, Tiger enjoys songwriting and making music, blending his instrumental knowledge with pop lyrics
Toby Wei is a sophomore at University High School Irvine. He participates in the top school orchestra, of which he is currently 2nd chair. He is a former member of the Youth Artists Orchestra of Los Angeles and also enjoys playing piano, of which he has won many awards for his playing including an invitation to play at Carnegie Hall as a soloist. Outside of music, Toby mainly enjoys physics/science-based activities and socializing with friends.
Joanne Chen is a sophomore at University High School in Irvine, California. She has studied piano to CM level 10 and is currently continuing her studies in viola. Joanne began playing viola at 8 years old and enjoys playing with various local honors orchestras. In the past, she has played with All-Southern California and the Irvine school district honors orchestra and currently performs with the Pacific Symphony Youth Orchestra. In 2025, she won 1st place in the Charleston International Music Competition, 1st place in the Grand Prize Virtuoso International Competition, 2nd place in the American Protege International Concerto Competition and 3rd place in the Global Music Arts Competition. She has performed at Kammermusiksaal in Berlin, Germany, the Musikverein in Vienna, Austria, and Carnegie Hall in New York City. Aside from music, she is engrossed with entomology through her school’s science club and enjoys volunteering at her church.
