Khundi Mata Lake situated at en elevation of 3755 M in Churah tehsil of district Chamba (HP).It is a Sacred Lake, and abode of Goddess Mahakali.It is also named Mahakali Lake,Chaurasi Ka Dal or Khundi Maral.It is situated along Pir Panjal mountain range.It is 0.5 km in circumference.

Every year First Tuesday of Bhadrapada Month(Hindu Month),there is big Jatra(Local Religious fair) is held in Khundi Mata Lake.Thousands of devotees comes to Khundi Mata Lake on this day.


There are three routes in district Chamba directed to Khundi Mata Lake.
They are as following :- Via Lilh(Bharmour),Via Saho(Chamba),Via Chanju(Churah)
Chanju route is nearest and easy among three routes.

There is a famous Mahakali temple in Dantui(Chanju),from which Chanju trek begins,Which is apxx. 15 kms in distance.

Dantui(Chanju) is 90 kms from Chamba.
If you are coming in bus from Chamba.You have to take bus for Nakrod(Check bus timings before you leave).Nakrod is 60 Kms from Chamba situated at Chamba-Tissa road.From Nakrod take bus for Chanju(which is limited and check bus timings before you leave).Or you can hire taxi from Nakrod to Chanju.Chanju is 30 kms in distance from Nakrod.
