Thank you for watching our Nissan Frontier side view mirror replacement tutorial. We mentioned that they're different mirrors for the different models but the shape of the mirror and the door panel are essentially the same. The door panels only received a visual upgrade but the door handle and armrest are in the same location. Some of the side view mirrors are painted, some are textured black and they may also have different features. They all have a large interior cover and a plug inside the door. All that aside, this is a very easy and straightforward job, so let's get started!

TOOLS NEEDED:
You will need a 10mm socket wrench for the mirror nuts and a panel clip removal tool for the interior cover. If you do not have the panel tool, you can use a flat-head screwdriver.

PROCESS:
The best thing about replacing a side-view mirror is that it's usually a fast job. The interior door cover on this mirror is a bit larger than most and it's held on by 3 push-pins. The newer trucks may only have 2 push-pins. Gently snap the cover off starting with the top or bottom, working your way towards the middle. You do not want to risk breaking the cover in half if you have an older model. Plastics tend to become a bit brittle over time. You'll immediately notice that the plug is not visible, which means you have to remove the door panel. Don't be scared, it's a simple process. There is a bolt behind the door handle cover, which you can remove with the panel tool or a flat-head screwdriver. The other 2 bolts are behind the armrest which you can pull off with your hands. All three bolts are a size 10mm. To remove the door panel, pull it out from the bottom first and work your way to the middle or top. Once the door panel is unclipped, you can pull it up towards the window for complete removal. The plug for the mirror is located behind the door frame just above the large opening below the mirror. Now you can remove the mirror with your 10mm socket wrench. Hopefully, you're installing a ReveMoto mirror but regardless, you have to check the functionality. The installation process should be quite easy now, just work in reverse.
