Author Douglas Murray claims filibusters are the “weakest form of politics” after Democratic Senator Cory Booker spoke for a record 25 hours against President Donald Trump.
“As everyone knows, filibusters are effectively the weakest form of politics. They don’t rely on argument, they don’t rely on persuasion, they don’t rely on reason – they rely on a kind of rhetorical brute force,” Mr Murray told Sky News host Rita Panahi.
“It’s a feat … but it is also a defeat – it’s a defeat because the democrats should be coming up with their own arguments and their own policies.
“It’s not even politics … it’s just a sort of student grade rebellion.”
