STV News (Central) is a Scottish news division produced by STV founded in 1972 as ‘Scotland Today’ (and ‘Tonight’) and has been a staple for the viewers in the STV region. However In 2009, the early evening broadcasts were rebranded to ‘STV News’. However, the late-night editions, which follow the ‘News at Ten’, retain the ‘Scotland Tonight’ titles and continue to be broadcast throughout both the North and South STV regions.
