First, I want to thank you Deaf Women of Color for choosing me as part of#DWCOverlookedGems2019!"My name is Patricia Caguimbal and my sign name is (shownin video). I am from the Philippines. I am profoundly deaf dueto an illness when I was a baby. I grew up lip reading and speaking. In elementary, I was the only deaf in regular schools and in high school, I transfered to deaf school, Miriam College-Southeast Asian Institute for the Deaf, and that time I started to learn sign language.In college, I graduated from De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde with a degree in Bachelor of Applied Deaf Studies and specialize in Computer Graphic Arts and Technology. Art is my passion since I was a kid I always drew and coloredat home.I have been working as a UI/UX Designer for 4 years now. UX stands for User Experience, it defines how the web/app works and does researches and create wireframes while UI stands for User Interface, it defines how the web/app looks and feels and brings concepts from visual designs. Both are always work together but I am more on UI design. And I am currently employed at As White Global, I work and report directly to my Australian client, Commission Factory, for webprojects like dashboard, activity timeline page, help centre page and moreIn my spare time, I work with my freelance in web and graphic designs for both local and international clients.
