Alla Prima oil painting time lapse video by Andrew Barrowman

Описание: Studio alla prima oil painting study of clouds over the sea. I wanted to try this direct method out to see if this subject would work as a larger painting. I painted quickly in oils onto a gessoed panel in the studio using brushes and some palette knife applications.

I really liked this bank of cloud hanging over the darkening sea. The illuminated water gave some dramatic contrast. I'm not sure if it will ever make it onto a larger canvas but I enjoyed painting the small study.
