NDB Impact stories: North region transportation infrastructure improvement project (Brazil)

Описание: The New Development Bank (NDB) plans to grow a portfolio of projects with the private sector, to complement the larger portfolio of sovereign loans. One such project is the USD 300 million non-sovereign loan to Vale S.A., one of Brazil's most important players in mining & logistics.

The project aims to improve the company’s logistics and trading capacity in its northern system, by supporting a double-tracking and remodelling of the Carajás Railway, and the expansion of the Ponta da Madeira Port Terminal. This will increase Vale’s capacity to transport iron ore from its mines to ports, and then to global markets.
